Amethyst takes headaches away and swiftly eases tension headaches and migraine headaches. Applied externally, it is a sovereign remedy for spider bites, insect bites and to reduce swelling.
The Gemstone Amethyst
Amethyst is a violet quartz crystal that contains traces of iron and manganese. For our gem elixir, we use Amethyst geodes from Uruguay. The name of the gemstone is derived from the Greek word ‘amethustos’ which translates to ‘non-inebriated’: This stone’s property, the detoxification of alcohol, was know to the ancients and it is this classical medicinal application of the gemstone that Amethysts were named for.
Manufacture and Specifications of our Gem Elixir of Amethyst
We first turn the gemstone into nanometer-sized clusters. These clusters are then dissolved into a vegetable-derived solvent that has been imbued with the spiritus mundi and are extracted by circulation for six weeks in an incubator. This is the traditional method of Western Alchemy to produce elixirs as practiced by the Cathars and the Dutch School. This elixir is then pH-adjusted and treated with cold plasma technology for further enhancement, which yields our Mother Tincture. One part of this Mother Tincture is diluted with nine parts of alcohol and water and is succused (vigorously shaken) to produce the Homeopathic Potency 1X. Our formula is alcohol reduced, with only 25% alcohol by volume, and is manufactured in accordance with the Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States in its current edition. Due to the high concentration of our Mother Tincture, the Homeopathic Potency 1X carries more Amethyst nano-clusters than it may hold in solution; an edible precipitate of organically bonded Amethyst nano-clusters may form over time. We suggest shaking the preparation once before taking.
Dosage
Use as directed by your health care professional.
Standard Dosage recommendation for adults: Seven drops per day under the tongue or in 1 oz of water between meals for one week. Reduce to 3-4 drops per day from week two onwards. In acute cases, up to ten drops several times per day or until symptoms disappear. For external application to insect bites, stings or swellings we suggest dabbing the elixir directly on the affected area.
Discussion of Usage and Properties
Our Amethyst elixir is designed to interact directly with your energy body. As such, the effect is immediate, as can be demonstrated by the instant change of brain wave patterns once the elixir is taken.[1]
Amethyst acts primarily on the head, but also has a profound detoxifying effect on the liver and the entire body. This elixir will supply your system with an overabundance of energy so that detoxification-reactions will not occur. It is one of the most versatile elixirs we offer.
Typical applications as per our in-house provings are:
The reduction of headaches, the prevention of unwanted aftereffects of alcohol ingestion, improved mental clarity, improved mental focus and the dispersion of excess heat.
Amethyst helps the digestion, and improves the complexion when taken daily over the course of two or more weeks. For those who engage in meditation practices, it is a tool to reach sublime states of mind easily and effortlessly.

Michael Gienger points out that Amethyst “is an aid to finding deep inner peace”, will “help in sadness and grief” and “helps with nervous complaints, diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract”. (Gienger, Michael: Crystal Power, Crystal Healing, London 2002, Cassell & Co.,p. 214f.)
Saint Hildegard of Bingen puts particular emphasis on the external application of Amethyst, claiming that it will draw out poisons from spider bites and snakes and that it will take away skin blemishes. (Bingen, Hildegard von: Das Buch von den Steinen, Salzburg 1997, Otto Mueller Verlag, p. 98)
Michel Dogna and Marie-Joelle Kraffe point out that Amethyst will stimulate the pituitary gland and the pancreas, will aid in the digestion of sugars and fat and is indicated in cases of diabetes, insomnia, hypoglycemia and anemia. Amethyst will improve the conductivity of the cerebro-spinal system. (Dogna, Michel and Kraffe, Marie-Joelle: Elixirs mineraux et Huiles dynamisees, Paris 1988, Guy Tredaniel, p.140)
Amethyst in Ayurveda is said to be: “efficacious in gonorrhea, …anemia, phlegm and vaju [wind or air]. It increases the power of digestion; is nutritive and cures and prevents disease and senile decay.” (Mookerji, Kaviraj Bhudeb [Translator]: Rasa-Jala-Nidhi or Ocean of Indian Chemistry & Alchemy, vol. 3, Delhi 1990, Parimal Publ., p. 249)
The Native American Healer Luc Bourgault Blue Eagle Ousti Catoui calls Amethyst “the stone of transformation”. He ascribes to amethyst “an ultraviolet spectrum, symbolizing alchemic processes on both a physical and spiritual level. This stone can, therefore, be used to change bad habits of alcoholism, drugs or other excess of any kind.” (Bourgault, Luc Blue Eagle: American Indian Secrets of Crystal Healing, Cippenham, England 1997, quantum, p.41)
